++JUNGLE TERRAIN

Below are some pictures of the jungle terrain I have started to build. I have found that a mixture of the plastic jungle trees that GW produces and cheap aquarium plants make nice looking jungle pieces. The jungle pieces are based on thin foam board cut to shape and textured. To texture coat with white craft glue(Elmers, etc.) slightly watered down and cover with sand. Once dry I primed black and drybrushed with green paints. The plant pieces where then added by pushing them into the bases and using super glue to affix. build up a little flock or static grass around the plant bases to make them appear more natural. Add patches of static grass and/or flock around the pieces for a little detail as well. I found it easiest to paint the GW jungle trees seperate from the bases before attaching(again primed black and drybrushed as appropriate). The key when building jungle terrain is to find a balance between looks and playability. Too many plants make it hard to move models in and through the jungle, but too few just don't give the impression of thick jungle that I wanted. Experiment and decide what works for you.
